3 Ways I'm Tackling Junior Year
It's exactly what they say it is. Junior year is hard! But, have you ever heard the saying "depression can't hit a moving target"? Well, academic stress can't hit a hardworking prepared student! What I've learned so far is that my workload is about quality, not quantity. Maybe it's the same for you, so here are the 3 ways I've been keeping myself sane so far. 1. Keep a to-do list. It is much easier to keep track of your work when you can see it visually. Teachers act like their class is the only one we have, which is completely untrue! With a list, you can put the assignments in order (I order them quickest to slowest) and get everything done more efficiently. 2. Have a routine. I know it sounds cliche and you'll hear it all the time, but it really is helpful. You don't have to follow the content creator's routine either! Most of us have jobs anyway and everyone's life looks different, so tailor it to yourself. When you get home have a set list of tasks you do in order. You could even add bits of your routine into your to-do list. If you want to go a step farther, set a timer or an alarm so you can use your time wisely. 3. Prioritize. We all procrastinate, and I'm pretty sure it's apart of life. As a student the expectation is to do your work when it gets to you, but due dates are important. Personally, if I have an assignment due 2 days after it's assigned, it's getting done the next day. It's different for everyone, but by prioritizing work I think it's easier to not be overwhelmed. Sometimes, by holding off on some assignments it relieves stress and leaves you better off than diving into mounds of work. Finally, remember to do what's best for you. There's so much advice on the internet and it's important to find a solution to whatever academic stress you might suffer from this school year. All I can say is good luck! #schoolsucks
